Winter hikes

Winter holidays somewhat differently… instead of ski trails, on cross-country winter hikes; instead of bustle, the quiet of snowed woodlands. Here and there, the encounter with a deer, the tracks of foxes and hares, and lots and lots of good air. Total recuperation!

Snowshoe hikes

The new sports trend for the winter! With snowshoes you can experience winter in its purest form, discover powder snow areas and reach summits which used to be reserved for ski tour participants. You will reach big heights - and be rewarded with a fantastic panorama from South Tyrol's summits.

Sledging

A fun day out bobsleighing includes climbing up on foots and taking a break in a traditional hut on the way. Bobsleigh on a string and set off on a high-speed sleigh ride!

Ski resort Schnalstal: Kurzras is the ideal starting point for pure skiing enjoyment. The Schnalstal Glacier (3200 m), 6 cable railway minutes away from Kurzras, guarantees absolute snow safety all year round. Wonderfully broad, perfectly prepared pistes (35 km) in magnificent countryside – offer an unforgettable experience for skiers and snowboarders! Plus 17 km of magnificent cross-country ski runs. A real winter wonderland! It’s hardly surprising that the Schnalstal Glacier is a sought-after training ground for many national ski teams!

Ski area Meran 2000: Above sophisticated Merano with its captivating "Belle-Époque-Flair" lies the marvellously sunny Meran 2000. Elegant loops are made not only on the ski paths but also along the promenades of Merano, where elegant shops in the picturesque galleries leave no wishes unfulfilled. Hafling, the home of the beautiful Haflinger horses, is the starting point for lively horse rides in the snow. Exquisite restaurants and hotels well known for their hospitality spoil their guest. A Dorado for pleasure skiers also due to the grandiose views all the way to the Ortler and the Dolomites. Numerous winter hiking opportunities (also with Nordic Walking signposting) and the sledging track, thanks to its always well-maintained condition, are very popular.
