Guaranteed sunshine for your holidays in South Tyrol
Tanto sole – the sun smiles down from the sky in South Tyrol! The ‘la dolce vita’ dream of the south. The weather in South Tyrol is glorious and full of sunshine. The Mediterranean climate and more than 300 days of sunshine a year make South Tyrol a delight. The Benedictine monks at the Marienberg Abbey have been keeping weather records since 1921. These records prove that the sun shines an average of 300 times a year in Val Venosta and Merano & environs. Spend your holidays on the sunny side of life and pick one of the Dolce Vita hotels as your holiday home.
Three cheers for the climate – South Tyrol is the sunniest spot in the Alps. The five Dolce Vita Hotels are located in Val Venosta and Merano & environs, the sunniest part of South Tyrol. Although it rarely rains in Val Venosta, the landscape is lush with vegetation and blossoms. Its secret lies in a centuries-old irrigation system – the Waale – which channels water from the surrounding mountains across the fertile valley floor, making the valley one of the most fascinating and enchanting landscapes in South Tyrol.
