Famous and popular: South Tyrolean wine

Enjoy wine from South Tyrol on holiday in the Vinschgau District

South Tyrol’s Mediterranean climate produces particularly fine grapes which are used to make excellent South Tyrolean wine. The wine from South Tyrol enjoys an outstanding reputation across the world. And this for good reasons: South Tyrol is one of the oldest wine growing regions in the German-speaking area.

The Vinschgau District’s mild climate and the sun kissed slopes of the mountains are just made for growing wine. The sun shows up more often in the Vinschgau District than elsewhere. This is where the five Dolce Vita Wellness Hotels, your charming holiday residences, are located. The famous vineyards Falkenstein and Unterortl, which have been awarded with “3 Glasses“ by Gambero Rosso & Slow Food for their Pinot Blanc and their Riesling, are in close proximity.

World-famous South Tyrolean wine

Take a leisurely walk to the popular vineyards and take part in a wine sampling session. The Unterortl vineyard opens its gates to the old wine cellar every second Thursday from Easter until All Saints Day. Sampling South Tyrolean wine in a rustic ambience is part of the guided vineyard tour. Separate guided tours for groups of up to six persons are available by appointment.

Dolce Vita tip:
A bottle of South Tyrolean wine is a wonderful souvenir for your loved ones back home.

South Tyrolean wine:
Top quality red and white wines

South Tyrol’s mild climate, the diversity of soil compositions and the centuries-old experience of wine growing make South Tyrolean wine to an extraordinary fine wine. The Vinschgau District tempts especially with its delicious Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir. The Naturns Riesling Days begin at the end of October. South Tyrolean wine is a delight for all senses: Enjoy a sampling session of South Tyrolean wines and raise a glass to your most beautiful holiday moments. South Tyrolean wine: delightful, delicious and - in moderation - very healthy. Health is also the topic of the Health Weeks at the Dolce Vita Hotels at the end of October. The Dolce Vita Hotels are the ideal holiday residence for wine connoisseurs and gourmets.
